ISLAM PROGRAM 1: Faith, Terrorism, and Global Justice Guests: Shaker Elsaid, the Secretary General of the Muslim-American Society; Rev. Grace Ellen Rice - Culmore United Methodist Church; Rev. Tom Jackson, Rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church; and host Dr. Bridget Mary Meehan, discuss how faith can be a powerful resource in times of national and global crisis. ISLAM PROGRAM 2 & 3: Women's Roles and Rights: In this two part program, prominent Muslim human rights activist Dr. Zieba Shorish-Shamley from the Women's Alliance for Peace and Human Rights in Afghanistan, and journalist Sharifa Alkhateeb, an expert on the Quran, quote passages which affirm women's equality. This program reflects on the challenges women face in Afghanistan in their struggle for human rights. The Taliban, Islamic Fundamentalists, do not allow girls to attend school or women to work outside the home.

ISLAM PROGRAM 4 & 5: Women in Afghanistan: Quest for Justice Afghanistan native Nasrine Gross shares stories and slides from her fact-finding mission inside Afghanistan. Women before the Taliban were doctors, teachers and government workers. Nasrine discusses the Declaration of the Essential Rights of Afghan women and the need for the restoration of women's rights in the reconstruction of a post-Taliban Afghanistan.
